Charlotte Symphony Chorus Pianist

Dr. Annie Brooks has enjoyed a multi-faceted career as soloist, chamber musician, vocal and chamber coach, and choral pianist. Born in Seattle, Washington, Brooks graduated magna cum laude from Western Washington University, and continued on to earn a Master's degree at Stony Brook University under full tuition scholarship in 2014. During the 2015-16 Season, Annie earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts at Stony Brook University. Her principal teachers have been Jeffrey Gilliam and Christina Dahl.
 
Dr. Brooks has long served as a pianist for choruses in her various places of study, working with the Seattle Symphony Chorus, Seattle Chamber Chorus, Mirinesse Women's Ensemble. She is also an active collaborator and has worked with Stony Brook's opera department for the last three years. Returning from her second summer as an opera coaching fellow at the Aspen Opera Theater Center, this coming fall Brooks will also continue her work with New York's Occasional Opera.
 
Dr. Brooks is delighted to now be located in Charlotte and working with Wingate University and the Charlotte Symphony Chorus.
